Tomorrow, Stern Pinball will announce a new Limited Edition of their Jurassic Park game, called the 30th Anniversary to (approximately) mark the original Jurassic Park movie’s cinematic release on June 9th, 1993.
The game is a new version of the original Jurassic Park Limited Edition from July 2019, and like that version it will be limited to 500 machines.
The cabinet trim features a red paint package on this latest release, whereas the original Limited Edition was green. Otherwise, it looks as though it is unchanged on the playfield, although it does have a new cabinet and backbox art package, along with new LCD graphics. It also includes, unlike the original run, Stern’s Insider Connected software and QR code reader hardware.
The original Pro, Premium and Limited Edition versions had artwork by Jonathan Bergeron (also known as “Johnny Crap”) and although it is not yet confirmed he created this new version too, the 30th Anniversary model’s artwork has a very similar look and feel.
More details are expected when the game is officially announced by Stern Pinball tomorrow. They have been teasing the announcement with a video.
Meanwhile, the 30th Anniversary model is currently available to pre-order from JJ at Game Exchange at a price of $12,999. That compares to the original Limited Edition’s MRSP of $8,999, a $4,000 increase. Game Exchange suggests the game will ship in around 2-4 weeks.
