We don’t often ask questions in the post headlines, that usually is clickbait, but I promise that my quest to avoid the curse of baiting continues apace here. That’s because I checked with Raw Thrills on this story, but there is officially “no comment” to share for now. With that said, let’s take a look at the public evidence and go from there.
A Kaiju Wars Refresher
Chances are you already know about this game, but in the instance that you do not, Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR is developed by Raw Thrills and was released earlier this year as an arcade exclusive title. First being shown at IAAPA 2023, the game initially shipped with only two “chapters” (levels), with a promise of five that would later be provided to operator buyers for free.

A New Chapter (or Three) For Godzilla
Throughout the year I’ve had several different people ask me if I’d heard anything about the upcoming chapters, to which the answer was always “no, sorry”. That looks to change thanks to a (formerly) quiet update to the Godzilla Kaiju Wars game page on RawThrills.com.
As eagle-eyed reader Jdevy noticed, there are some new shots here that weren’t there before and they show some elements of the game that are not present in the two current chapters. As he stated on our Discord server:
It looks like the remaining 3 chapters for Godzilla VR are…
-Gigan Attack (you fight Gigan – and maybe some alien ships from the looks of it)
-River Assault (Manda is in it at least)
-Tokyo Onslaught (Features a kaiju not revealed in any of the game’s promos or art…
That Kaiju would be Mechagodzilla, as you can see in these shots below.
As for when these chapters will be available? Without an official confirmation, it seems to be a very good guess to make that they will debut at IAAPA 2024, although whether that is just Chapter 3 or if it might include 4 & 5 as well, I don’t know.
The Big Buck Hunter World Championships are also getting underway this weekend, where I do imagine that there will be a Godzilla VR on-site (there are always some new RT games there), although that may or may not have these new chapters on it too.
Fortunately we’ll know on this soon enough, but for now, take a gander at these new screenshots of Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR and comment below on what you think!
