A month from now, we’ll be smack dab in the middle of the IAAPA 2018 trade show in Orlando, FL. Fortunately, October tends to be a good time for news on some of the titles one can expect to find at the show.
This morning, Sega Amusements sent out an e-mail & press release, detailing what you can expect to find at their booths (1506 & 1606, respectively) in the realm of video games. The PR touts Sega’s history with video gaming being at their core and while it does talk about games like Transformers: Shadows Rising and House of the Dead Scarlet Dawn, a brand new title was introduced as a part of the mix. Called ATV Slam, this brings quad racing back to arcades, something I don’t think we’ve seen since Galeco’s ATV Track back in 2002.
From the press release, then we’ll look at the cabinet. I will also add emphasis to a couple of parts:
ATV racing is coming to IAAPA, and Sega’s booth will be the place to experience this white-knuckle racing game. ATV Slam takes All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) racing to a whole new level, with its custom developed motion platform, players will experience the most realistic ATV racing game ever. Unique ‘Artificial Intelligence’ system makes the game fun for casual and core gamers. Featuring ten exotic environments, five different vehicles – each with different power and design, wind effects and razor-sharp console quality graphics, ATV Slam gets players hearts racing through the game.
The sensational cabinet will wow players in any location. Featuring a life-size quadbike with huge back wheels, chrome engine compartment, stylish liveries and scintillating lighting effects from top to bottom attracts players attention. Using the accelerator on the quadbike bike handles players must race to the finish line using boost, avoid obstacles, drift and perform
