We have some news from one of our sponsors today, Touch Magix, although I have to admit – I do not follow blockchain & NFT news much at all, so bear with me on that aspect of the story.

Pudgy Penguins banner

Touch Magix has announced a partnership with Pudgy Penguins and is seeking to bring “arcade games and merchandise featuring the Pudgy Penguins characters” to the amusement realm. Per the Pudgy Penguins website, the penguins are “8,888 unique collectible penguins with proof of ownership stored on the Etherum blockchain” and are a “Web-3 born brand that fosters creativity, freedom, and community…We believe in the power of play and imagination and we’re committed to helping you unlock your inner child.” The site’s news ticker also mentions various NFT sales, hence the connection there.

What that means for an arcade game isn’t clear at this point although with Touch Magix’s general focus, I imagine that it will come in the form of a videmption game. This is all my own conjecture but with merchandise also specified in the press release, it could mean NFTs one obtains from a machine or it could entail physical merchandise like plushies that they could offer for a Pudgy Penguins branded crane. Last year, TM did launch the Carnival Cups Crane machine in conjunction with Coast-To-Coast Entertainment, so them continuing in this path wouldn’t be a stretch. We’ll probably have to wait for IAAPA 2023 to see for certain what the possibilities will be.

Until then, here’s a teaser in the form of a press release
