Twelve years after first showing the original, Dutch Pinball today revealed a new limited edition model of their The Big Lebowski game.
Themed around the Jesus Quintana character as portrayed by John Turturro, The Big Lebowski: Jesus Edition is limited to 300 units and features new cabinet, backbox and playfield artwork with high-gloss cabinet decals, new playfield plastics, inner cabinet artwork, a new bowling alley front sculpt, a new illuminated bottom apron and anti-reflective playfield glass.
Throughout the game, the purple colour of Jesus’s bowling outfit is used as an accent, as well as on the cabinet’s metalwork and legs.
The game’s software has also been updated, with additional voice calls and gameplay changes. This model, like the original, is fully licensed by Universal Pictures.
Included with the Jesus Edition are a numbered certificate and the Big Lebowski rug.
According to Dutch Pinball, there will be one additional surprise included which they won’t reveal until closer to production. With the first units due to ship in September this year, we shouldn’t have too much longer to wait to discover the surprise addition.
The game is priced in Europe at €15,995 (including tax) and in the US at $14,995 (plus tax). This compares to the original model which currently sells at $13,850 (plus tax) without the Jesus Edition exclusive additions.
The Jesus Edition will be built, like the original, at the Dutch Pinball factory in Herkenbosch in the Netherlands.
